Evan has been with the YMCA for three years and the Aquatics Director for the past year and a half. He has received a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology with I minor in Biology. Evan has been a certified teacher and a swimming and diving coach for the past eleven years, with thirteen years of competitive swimming experience. Evan has been a certified lifeguard the past twenty one years and an instructor for the past two years. He has held a swim instructor certification for the past fifteen years. In the past he managed pools during the summer months for five years.
Renee Bohannon has been the Member Services Director for the YMCA of Central Texas since September of 2012. She came to the YMCA as a part time employee in January of 2011. Was promoted to Membership Coordinator in April 2012, then eventually to Member Services Director.
She came to the YMCA looking for a change after a successful 24 year career in retail.
She was born and raised in Waco and became familiar with the YMCA when she enrolled her son in their summer camp program in the 1990’s. She is mother to 2, step-mother to 3, and grandmother to 4.
Mike Green is the Sports Director at the Waco Family YMCA and has been in the position since September 2012. Before coming to the Y, Mike had been in the ministry for over twenty years as a Singles Pastor, Minister of Education, Administrator and Senior Adult Minister. He has served in various churches in Texas and left the ministry when he and his wife moved to Waco. Mike has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Central State University in Edmond Oklahoma and a Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth Texas. Mike has always had a passion for sports and this job is a natural fit for him and has allowed him to remain in ministry.
Jeremiah Zimmerman is currently the Sr. Health and Wellness Director for the YMCA of Central Texas. Before joining the YMCA in 2011, he served in the United States Coast Guard.
Jeremiah earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Sam Houston State University and a master’s degree in Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation Management from Hardin-Simmons University.
Jeremiah and his wife Aimee have two young boys and are expecting their third child in May 2014.
